	Basketball at OWSC   A few old boys began to play basketball every Saturday. The fun games and laughter lasted just for a few months because the intensity of the games increased. More past pupils joined the fray. This made Practice more serious & the laughter and jokes were a post-game thing. Old boys such as Mohamed Nizam, Amjad Afam, Lasanth Sanjaya, F.Devananda, Jeevan Daniel began to talk about forming a team. Three months after their initial fun games, OWSC registered a team to play in the “SUPER LEAGUE” – C Division Basketball Tournament conducted by the Colombo Basketball Federation. The team is grateful to coach Mr.Panduka Ranasinghe for his role. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… On 17th January 2009, OWSC played their first ever basketball match against Galle B.C. at the St Joseph's Girls School Courts, Nugegoda. There was no need for better motivation. Our lads played extremely well and the scores matched up until the last quarter when the experienced opposition beat the OWSC by 85-78 in a high scoring game. With this game we entered another piece of history in the annals of sport at the OWSC. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………... On 21st January, OWSC registered their maiden victory at Basketball in just their 2nd game with narrow but thrilling encounter against opposition Stallion BC 53-52. ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….………… Congratulations to the team.
