A memorandum of understanding was signed between Richmond College Union – Colombo Branch and the OWSC on 10^th October in presence of Past Presidents & members of both committees.

 

This is another first for OWSC and underpins the effort to increase patronage and to further enhance the friendship that exists between the two schools and the past pupils.

 

The idea was first mooted by Ranjan Dias Jayasinghe of Richmond by speaking to Rohan Perera the President of OWSC at that time.

A Cricket Match between Old boys of both schools was organized in memory of Mr. A S Wirasinha - past principal of Richmond and of Wesley (2^nd longest term).

The organizing committee was headed by Navin de Silva from Wesley and Arthavanathe of Richmond, it was great success.

It was during this time that Richmond showed interest to join the OWSC as they did not have a place to meet in Colombo. Following many discussions - MOU for Reciprocal membership was signed on the 10th of Oct 09 between Richmond RCU -Colombo branch and OWSC

 

Some of the salient features of the MOU are as follows,

* RCU could use facilities of OWSC.

* OWSC members could also use the RCU Club facilities in Galle if and when they set it up

* No voting rights

* OWSC board room will be hired for their EXCO at Rs 500/- per hour

* RCU to provide a list of their members along with ID nos

* To adhere to the rules and regulations of the club
