OWSC - Commissioning of the Refurbished Kitchen at OWSC
A
very simple ceremony was held on 1st March, 2010 by way of the soft
opening of the refurbished OWSC kitchen. Spearheading the efforts of
raising funds for this project was non other than P. Gajendran who
also made a contribution of 100k. Two focal pieces of achievement was
the refurbishment of the carriage and kitchen purely through fund
raising, most of which were through donations made by old boys. Mrs.
Jazeema Ismail played a very important and vital role by helping us to
initiate the project offering us a soft loan from the WW monies in
their account amounting to 248k.
Richie Sappideen spearheaded the careful procurement of all kitchen equipment and utensils at almost half the prices. This was indeed a great achievement. Helping to disburse and utilize the funds carefully was than that silent man our treasurer Sivagnanam. Helping me out with supervising civil work in progress was Dharshana. It was great team work by the Development committee and every Wesleyite should be proud of the progress that is being made at the OWSC. Special mention must be made of the OWSC staff Yohan and Joseph who worked with so much enthusiasm and at times under tremendous pressure exerted by me to see that everything was in place. There is more to be done. In order to keep the momentum and achieve our dreams I invite Wesleyites to now patronize their club more frequently and experience a change by tasting the food dished out by their very own chefs. Thanks to all those who were present at the opening and been an inspiration to our efforts. Jeremy Brohier President - OWSC
